Visit to IWK

Monday night Lincoln still had a fever, so I thought we should take him in to check to make sure he wasn't getting dehydrated and something else wasn't going on....this is the cuties in the yellow striped night gown at about 12:30 at night. We didn't wait long and were home by 1:20 a.m.
A great pediatrician checked him over. He doesn't think it is Roseola because the fever would have broken by now. He isn't dehydrated, and was very alert and responsive to the Dr.
The Dr. thinks he has a throat virus going on and the fever is fighting it. The Dr. was a fountain of information....like....don't bath your child when they have a fever to lower their body temperature, it makes their liver work harder and uses up what energy they do have, they won't get brain damage from a high fever, if they have a seizure it won't give them brain damage...anyways, he gave me his website with all kinds of info. and here it is if you want to read up more about it.....www.thevirtualpediatrician.com

Food, food, food....

Lincoln....

Well last week, Lincoln had a double ear infection....he's over that now. This week he seems to have Roseola (which Joseph & Mackenzie have already had, so I'm guessing that's where it has come from). He has had the fever for a few days and is starting to be himself again...hopefully he won't get a bad rash. During his nap this afternoon, he was either hot or delirious, because when I went in to get him up he was lying buck naked...he had taken off his diaper and thrown it to the side....hopefully this doesn't become a habit.
