The bathroom & heater that was piping hot and burned her bottom....not a good experience for a 3 year old. Especially when you can't explain why it has happened and you can't make the pain go away....
Right after the burn happened, it was red and swollen instantly....it is blurry because she was freaking out and I couldn't get her to stay still for a picture....understandable, why she wouldn't stay still.
Later at the hotel, the blister form and the grill of the heater has obviously been branded to her behind.
Later after her blister had burst...the doctor told us she has 1st & 2nd degree burns and we won't know for months whether she will scar from it or not.
A more focused shot of the burn....not very nice for a little girl who was so excited to go on the train.

Holy Cow.. that's insane!!! (just in case U don't know who I am.. Carly's friend) I love your blog :) U update all the time, I was just in Boston this weekend past for July 4th too.
these pictures have brought tears to my eyes, poor libby she must of been terrified. is she feeling better?
Jennifer, we might try Boston next year, we hear their fireworks are better then NYC.
Amy, She is feeling better and slowly healing, we won't know for a few months if she will scar or not.

Oh no!! Poor Libby!!! That looks so painful!
Poor Libby, that must have hurt like crazy. My brother was burned badly with roofing tar to the inside of his forearm, wrist to elbow, 3rd degree. Its important to keep a burn moist, Libby's in kind of a hard place but keep putting antibacterial oinment on it, or even vasaline jelly.
